About CELINE Glasses
Often described as one of the leading Parisian fashion houses, CELINE represents the epitome of chic French style. The label was founded by Céline Vipiana and her husband Richard in 1945, initially as a made-to-measure children’s shoe store located near Place de la République at 52 Rue de Malte.
Gradually Vipiana moved into women’s ready-to-wear fashion and leather accessories, and by the 1970s, she had established the company as a global brand. Today CELINE is part of the highly regarded LVMH group. The brand, directed by Hedi Slimane, is one of the most highly regarded designers in modern fashion.
What To Look For
Glamour, with a nod to some of the most delicate retro designs of the past: from one season to the next, this collection includes classic shapes such as the aviator, square or cat-eye glasses, translated into designs for modern women with an eye for style.
As well as an impressive quality in the glossy tortoiseshell acetates, the line always offers an oversized statement and attractive thick-rimmed frames. The color palette is generally refined and classic - with tones of Havana in light and dark, Black and White alongside the occasional pastel tone or bright.
Luxurious hardware such as the small metal pins on the fronts and temples of some frames add further character and refinement to these high-quality, high-fashion frames.
